Take time to enjoy the "little things" the details: the comfort of freshly ground coffee, the shimmer of untouched snow, the excited "tail-wagging-pant" that ensues when your dog realizes you are going for a walk, a heartfelt snuggle from a loved one, or a door that a stranger holds for you. Enjoy each moment. After all, you don't get the same moment twice.
Look past your thoughts, so you may drink the pure nectar of this moment."-Rumi |
Put down your phone. Don't become a statistic in the epidemic of distraction. You will find that focusing on the "now" will bring you peace, it will set you free from continuous urge to multitask. Being “present” allows you to thrive, "What lies before us and what lies behind us are small matters compared to what lies within us. And when you bring what is within out into the world, miracles happen"-Henry David Thoreau.
"What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it"-Unknown |
Today is as an opportunity to tune in to what makes YOU happy-- what would you do if you weren't afraid? Would you take time to live more, love more? We could all use more time to: kiss, hug, read, dream, sleep, sing, hike, bike, play, cook, create, plant, laugh, learn, chat, dance, paint, knit, parent, care, share, explore and enjoy—to LIVE life. Today is a gift, that is why they call it the present.
Never get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life. I recently have been made aware of an organization that epitomizes "living in the now" Steal Time Back. Everything from their name, their vision, their beautiful timepieces, and their gorgeous accessories remind us to "be present" in the “now”. |

Our first collaborative project is a piece called "Eternal Now.” This clock does not tell time in the "traditional" sense; instead, it features an infinity sign that has been stamped with the word "now" as its "hands"--the continuous rotation reminding us to be present. |
