Why do you do what you do?
A simple question, and yet—I find that it is a difficult query to answer for most. The breadth of this topic being quite vast—from the seemingly insignificant answer to why you are wearing a particular shirt, why you chose an omelet for breakfast... all the way to your career choice, or the number of children you may or may not have... It is a doozey of an inquiry.

So let’s delve in a little further—Do you go about your "day to day” operations because they innately bring you joy? Or is your routine built out of convenience, out of habit, out of some type of perceived pressure to fulfill a “societal norm”?
“A fine line exists between adaptability--and sacrificing self. There’s a difference in going with the flow, and giving your flow away” –Danielle Doby Be who you are, not who the world wants you to be. |
So we MUST remain cognizant of our dreams, our wishes, our desires, in order to direct our actions—to give structure to the sails of our ships.
“The key is not to prioritize what is on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities” -Steven Covey
With that being said, I challenge (*or re-challenge ) you to the following four steps:

You don't have to get a job that makes others feel comfortable about what they perceive as your success. You don't have to explain what you plan to do with your life. You don't have to justify your education by demonstrating its financial rewards. You don't have to maintain an impeccable credit score. Anyone who expects you to do any of those things has no sense of history or economics or science or the arts. You have to pay your own electric bill. You have to be kind. You have to give it all you've got. You have to find people who love you truly and love them back with the same truth. But that's all." -Cheryl Strayed
