In my opinion, no one is too old for fairy tales; everyone deserves some version of "Happily Ever After". "Fairy tales are more than true: not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten"-GK Chesterton
Although you may be battling some "dragons" of your own, I believe that you are wonderful--you are incredible; YOU are someone's absolute favorite person. Stay true to you, and you will end up incredibly happy. |
DAGAF: DO A Grouch A Favor
Speaking of dragons, you may or may not know that today is National Do a Grouch a Favor Day. When we think of the word "grouch" most of us picture a habitually unhappy person--a complainer, a curmudgeon, a sourpuss, a grump; someone that is not too fun to be around. The thing is, whether we are willing to admit it or not--we all have been a grouch before.
We are all human; we are subject to the ups and downs in life. We have all been in situations that have made us less than pleasant to be with. I think that last sentiment is key--there is usually a "reason" that people are acting a little prickly, a little cantankerous. It is incredibly important to remember that we don't know where someone else is coming from without walking a mile in their shoes. "We could be standing next to someone who is completely broken and we wouldn't even know it"-Anonymous Taking the "high road" and showing a less-than-friendly-person an act of kindness could have the power to change their world. Either way, it is never a bad idea to spread joy to others, and be nice to people--it is a wonderful legacy to leave behind. |
