In addition to soaking up the whimsical winter weather, I was busy delving into "Project Update Urban Veggie"--an effort created with the intent to refresh, revamp, and recap the story of Urban Veggie.

2.) As an industry, do most shops recycle their unwanted bike parts? **No, most companies throw unwanted bike parts away. Many shops find that it is "too expensive" to recycle the parts because they have to pay (or use some good old fashioned elbow-grease) for them be "de-greased " prior to recycling.
About The Art: |

Our artistic designs are available on Etsy, and our thoughts, articles, recipes, blogs, tips, and tricks are available right here!
As a company, we try our very best to reduce, reuse, and recycle by leading a "green" lifestyle, and implementing found objects into artwork. Urban Veggie has established several working relationships with local shops in order to obtain parts that would otherwise be discarded; these items are taken and re-purposed into visually appealing functional designs. Urban Veggie also frequents garage sales, and thrift stores to find unique materials for art.
Over the past year or so, Urban Veggie designs have been featured at several storefront locations;
Etsy, PRESERVE.us, Whole Foods Market, Unlisted, Nourish Organic Juice, and Criterium Bicycles.
”PRESERVE.us is the lifestyle site from Blake Lively. On this site, Blake's eye for style, charm, and philanthropy are translated into a beautiful storyline of creativity. Preserve shines the spotlight on an extraordinarily talented cadre of whimsical: chefs, writers, artists, craftsmen, designers, stylists, health gurus, travel aficionados, and cinematographers. This array of accomplished individuals contributes to a beautiful compilation of curiosity and wonder
"Whole Foods Market" is the healthiest grocery store in America, and a leader in the eco-friendly community. They have partnered with Etsy to promote sustainable creativity via local artisans.
"Unlisted" is an ADORABLE unique boutique in Centennial, Colorado that focuses on handmade, innovative, "one of a kind" artistic designs.
"Nourish Organic Juice" is a lovely smoothie and juice bar that promotes a healthy lifestyle through organic and gluten-free goodness. "Saving the world one juice at a time".

About Me: |
|
Hello! My name is Christy. I am the Artist behind Urban Veggie, LLC.
I am a health enthusiast by day, and a contemporary mixed media artist by night that has started a line called “Urban Veggie”. This venture promotes a Beautiful, Sustainable, Healthy, and Active Lifestyle. My artistic designs are available on Etsy, and my thoughts, articles, recipes, blogs, tips, and tricks are available right here! Throughout my journey as an artist, I have been featured in numerous shows, journals, galleries, and storefront retailers throughout Colorado. My designs are currently displayed on Etsy, as well as on Blake Lively's website "Preserve.us". Throughout various courses in high school and college, I studied sculpture, woodwork, metals, pottery, jewelry and many other art mediums. These courses inspired me to work with recycled and sustainable materials; and thus I began implementing found objects into my artwork. So you caught me--I am a frequent flier to garage sales and thrift stores in order to find unique materials. |
In my free time I love to spend time with friends, family, coworkers, and my rock--aka my wonderful hubby Alex. I love to spend time outdoors biking, hiking, and relaxing on the patio watching a good old fashioned sunset. I whole-heartedly enjoy traveling, live music, “mom and pop” coffee shops, snuggling up to a good movie, the smell after it rains, group exercise classes, yoga, and apples with peanut butter. I adore spending time in the kitchen or art studio creating new things--anything from new healthful vegetarian recipes, to sculptures out of recycled materials.
So let’s promote a beautiful healthy balance of mind, body, and spirit by "Going Green" together and doing our best to; Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose, and Upcycle!
Namaste,
Christy
